The escomatic D2: a revolutionary and innovative development of the D2 Flex Speed ​​cam-operated lathe, the escomatic D2 is the only CNC machine capable of achieving the same cycle times as a cam-operated lathe. The base of theescomatic D5 is identical in every respect to an escomatic D2 machine. Base, straightening, feed and rotating workhead are absolutely identical to a D2. On theescomatic D5, the D2 counter-clamp is replaced by a front-mounted take-up system offering, on a 2-axis cross table, 2 drilling spindles, a threading/tapping spindle and a counter-clamp whose feed is controlled by a programmed axis.

Compared to a cam-operated machine, CNC control offers greater flexibility and optimized productivity without any downtime in the cycle. All the advantages of the cam-operated machine remain. The very simple and intuitive programming system was developed with experience in bar turning. It can be learned by any operator in just a few hours.
